Honorary Affiliate

Honorary Affiliate membership has a long tradition in Michigan's architectural community. Julius Melcher was named in 1897. Then Lt. Governor Milliken was chosen in 1967 and Helen Milliken made the list in 1972. Honorary Affiliate membership is bestowed on persons who are not otherwise eligible for AIA membership. The list includes artists, writers, politicians and a variety of other people who have made significant contributions to architecture.
